Kolkata Knight Riders 121-6 (Bisla 45) beat
Auckland Aces 119-6 (Vincent 40) by two runs
Champions League T20 qualifier, Hyderabad
Kolkata Knight Riders held their nerve to beat the Auckland Aces by two runs in a thrilling second game of the Champions League Twenty20 qualifier in Hyderabad.
Brett Lee delivered an excellent final over, conceding eight when Auckland needed ten to win with Kyle Mills and Andre Adams unable to get the New Zealanders over the line.
They closed on 119 for six in reply to Kolkata's 121 for six, a score that owed plenty to Manvinder Bisla's 45 in 32 balls and Jacques Kallis's 33 although they collapsed from 72 without loss to their closing score to hand Auckland a chance as Mills returned two for 24.
Although Auckland lost Martin Guptill to a run out before a run had been scored, Lou Vincent hit 40 in 37 balls to steer them to 60 for one but they also suffered a collapse, losing three wickets for one run and despite 19 from Colin Munro and 20 not out from Mills, they were unable to recover.
Yusuf Pathan picked up two for 21 while there was a wicket apiece for Rajat Bhatia and Kallis.
