Indian pace bowler Ranganath Vinay Kumar has been ruled out of the rest of the One-Day International tri-series in Zimbabwe with a knee injury.

The Indian board (BCCI) has confirmed that pacer Abhimanyu Mithun will replace him in the squad, which has matches against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka ahead of them as well as a potential final.

They then stay on to play Zimbabwe in two Twenty20 Internationals.

Kumar made his debut in India's six-wicket defeat to Zimbabwe, taking two for 51, before injury ruled him out of the second match, for which he was replaced by left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha.

Mithun, like Kumar, played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore during the third edition of the Indian Premier League.
