New Zealand fast bowler Kyle Mills has been ruled out of the Test match against Zimbabwe and has returned home following an abductor muscle injury.
New Zealand won both Twenty20 Internationals and took the three-match One-Day Internationals series 2-1 with Mills playing in the opening Twenty20 and opening ODI.
“Kyle developed some discomfort during the first one-dayer in Harare," New Zealand's team manager Mike Sandle explained.
"Initially it was thought to be a strain but a scan has shown a slight tear to his abductor muscle. Kyle will undergo further assessment by the New Zealand Cricket medical team once he returns home.
"The decision has been made not to bring over a replacement player with sufficient cover in the current squad. Clearly it is disappointing for Kyle who was looking forward to making a return to the Test team. We wish him a speedy recovery and are hopeful he will be available for selection for the upcoming Test series against Australia."
The Test match gets underway on 1st November.
