Lancashire-based brewer Thwaites has produced a unique message of support as the county champions prepare to defend their crown.
On the eve of the 2012 LV= County Championship season before their opening fixture against Sussex, Thwaites, proud sponsor of Lancashire County Cricket Club, spelt out a unique ‘Good Luck’ message with its award winning Wainwright golden ale beer.
In their seventh year as sponsors of Lancashire County Cricket Club, Thwaites will once again see their Wainwright beer logo proudly displayed on Lancashire’s shirts.
Lee Williams, marketing manager of Thwaites said: “Thwaites is extremely proud of its long association with Lancashire County Cricket Club. The team showed a lot of bottle to win the title in such dramatic fashion against all the odds by defeating Somerset.
“We wanted to show the team that everyone at Thwaites is right behind them once again this year as they look to defend their crown and build on last season’s success.”
The club sealed its first County Championship win since 1934 by defeating Somerset by eight wickets and club sponsor Thwaites joined in the celebrations by unveiling the limited edition beer.
After ‘Thwaiting’ over seven decades since Lancashire Cricket Clubs last County Championship success, Thwaites brewed ‘Lancashire Reign’, especially to honour the Red Roses first win of the County Championship in 77 years.
