Lancashire Looking Good With Brewer's Backing

Daniel Thwaites Brewery awarded a perfect six to one of the country’s leading cricket clubs, when it unveiled its new 2008 kit.

Earlier this month, players at Lancashire County Cricket Club (LCCC) took to Old Trafford’s pitch sporting their sparkling new strip, unveiling the sponsorship of the northern brewer’s Lancaster Bomber brand for the first time.

Having supported LCCC for the past ten years through beer supply, stand sponsorship and player testimonial dinners, the Blackburn based brewery was announced as the official club sponsor in late September 2007. But fans have had to wait until now, to see the sponsorship take pride of place on the Red Rose shirts.

As part of its sponsorship, the brewery’s Lancaster Bomber brand will be pride of place on the front and back of all Red Rose shirts throughout the 2008/2009 season, guaranteeing prime national consumer exposure for the leading cask beer.

Thwaites sales and marketing director Brian Jenkins said the club shirt sponsorship was fantastic news for everyone associated with the brewery.

He said: “As a Lancashire Brewer, the fit is obvious and to now see Lancaster Bomber on the front of the club’s shirts is a real coup as the beer is fast becoming a national favourite.

“To date, Thwaites has invested over £1m in sport from grass roots through to the first class game, and has been a supporter of cricket in Lancashire for a number of years. This new shirt sponsorship for our leading premium ale is a fantastic opportunity, and cements the successful trading partnership we have with Lancashire.”
