Lancashire have strengthened their side by signing Naqaash Tahir from Warwickshire. The 28-year-old will stay with the County Champions until the end of the 2012 season.
His career has been one plagued by injuries but he has still taken 139 wickets from 56 first-class matches. He made his first-class debut whilst playing for Warwickshire against Cambridge UCCE taking two wickets in 13 overs.
LCCC Cricket Director, Mike Watkinson, said: “Naqaash is an experienced bowler who has been unfortunate with injuries during his time at Warwickshire. He joins us with a point to prove and a desire to play cricket at the highest level.”
Head Coach Peter Moores added: “We are delighted to secure Naqaash for the coming season. He is a very talented swing bowler who will provide the necessary depth to an already strong seam attack, which is essential for the demands of a first class county season.”
Tahir is a promising addition for Lancashire if he stays fit, adding a further option to an already strong side featuring the likes of James Anderson, Sajid Mahmood and Oliver Newby.
