Lancashire Under 17s Going For One Day Glory

Lancashire Under 17s will meet Middlesex in the inaugural Under 17s One Day final this Sunday at Kibworth Cricket Club in Leicestershire.

The side defeated Worcestershire in a dramatic bowl-out during Wednesday’s Semi Final at Wigan. Due to rain, the match was reduced to 40-overs per side, with Lancashire amassing 241 runs. But the rain returned and Worcestershire’s innings was halted after 10 overs, meaning No Result was possible and a bowl-out would determine the winner.

To make it to the Semi-Final stage, Lancashire had to top their Zonal Group, and did so defeating Durham and Yorkshire, but shared the points with Notts in a rain affected fixture.

Lancashire’s Under 17’s Squad coached by John Stanworth:

Scott Friend (Cherry Tree CC)
Amir Mirza (Cherry Tree CC)
Luke Perry (Farnworth Social Circle)
John Rushmore (cpt) (Worsley CC)
Tom Hardman (Heywood CC)
Aqib Zulfiqar (Crompton CC)
Tony Bulcock (Accrington CC)
Adam Heyes (Greenfield CC)
Josh Hine (Southport CC)
Jordan Clarke (wkt) (Darwen CC)
Mohammad Abid (Ashton CC)
Jacob Banji (Darwen CC)

The final is 50 overs per side and is due to start at 11:30am.
