South Africa 141-5 (Boucher 33no) beat
Sri Lanka 137-8 (Kapugedera 61no, Kleinveldt 2-13) by five wickets
ICC World Twenty20 warm-up game, Barbados
South Africa left it late to produce a winning charge to beat Sri Lanka by five wickets with three balls remaining in an ICC World Twenty20 warm-up match in Barbados.
After Sri Lanka had rallied to post 137 for eight, South Africa closed on 141 for five having needed 43 to win from the final four overs.
They got there thanks to Mark Boucher's unbeaten 33 in 20 balls, Johan Botha's 29 in 17 balls and an unbeaten single from Rory Kleinveldt.
Kleinveldt had earlier been in impressive form with the ball, taking two for 13 as Sri Lanka struggled having won the toss and elected to bat.
Openers TIllakaratne Dilshan (0) and Mahela Jayawardene (5) fell cheaply and they were followed by Kumar Sangakkara (15), Dinesh Chandimal (0) and Angelo Mathews (6) as Charl Langeveldt and Morne Morkel also took two wickets.
The Sri Lankan recovery came courtesy of Sanath Jayasuriya, who made 33 in 41 balls and Chamara Kapugedera, who smashed 61 in 35 deliveries with five massive sixes.
South Africa also made a poor start to their innings when Graeme Smith was dismissed for two but useful partnerships between Loots Bosman (20), Herschelle Gibbs (26) and AB de Villiers (21) kept them in the hunt.
Chanaka Welagedara, Nuwan Kulasekara, Thissera Perera, Jayasuriya and Suraj Ranjiv all took a wicket apiece but they couldn't land the knockout blow.
