Yorkshire second team batsman Jack Leaning scored his second century of the season with an unbeaten 119 to help York beat Sheffield United by 144 runs.

Leaning and Liam McKendry shared an opening stand of 113, McKendry scoring 57 and his younger brother Ryan making an undefeated 66.

These fine innings enabled York to amass 297-3 before leg spinner Tom Pringle (4-34) and Dan Woods (4-26) each took four wickets as United were bowled out for 153. Paul Cummins made half these runs with 88, but received little support.
Harrogate maintained their 100 per cent record with a four wicket win over Appleby Frodingham despite a large ninth wicket stand for the Scunthorpe based side.

Carl Taylor and Tom Brooks added 93 for the ninth wicket to help Frodingham reach 221 with pace bowler Ashley Griffin taking 5-22. Harrogate reached their target with for the loss of six wickets with George Ross (79 not out) and Australian Calum How (61) making half centuries while Vic Craven scored 36.

Alex Lees hit 23 fours and three sixes in an unbeaten 163 for Yorkshire Academy in their nine wicket win at Rotherham. Brothers Gareth and Chris Pursehouse shared a second wicket stand of 155 in Rotherham’s total of 277-7 with Gareth making 89 and Chris 79. It was a large total, but presented no problems for the Academy thanks to Lees’ fine innings.

Barnsley gained a second win in a row, beating visitors Doncaster Town by seven wickets. Opener Jon Turner scored 71 not out, leading his side to victory after Barnsley bowled out Doncaster for 123 with Harry Rouse taking 3-14.

Former Yorkshire wicket keeper, player coach Simon Guy scored 101 to help Sheffield Collegiate beat Driffield by 90 runs. Collegiate scored 277-7 before bowling out Driffield for 187.

Ashley Lyth, brother of Yorkshire batsman Adam Lyth, scored 81 not out and Darren Harland 53 in Scarborough’s six wicket win at Castleford. Will Simpson was Castleford’s top scorer as they reached 240-7.
