Leicestershire have moved to put a new coaching structure in place ahead of the 2011 season following the departure of Tim Boon to the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Head Coach and Academy Director Phil Whitticase is to take charge of the first team while High Performance Coach Lloyd Tennant will look after the second team.

Russell Cobb will be responsible for the Emerging Players Programme.

“In view of the current financial situation the Board has decided not to advertise for a Senior Coach and will look to its excellent existing resources to provide support for the players next season," chief executive Mike Siddall said.

“The Club has three top quality Level four coaches who complement each other well. The arrangement has the full support of the Cricket Group which includes Chairman Paul Haywood and Club Captain Matthew Hoggard.”

The club has had a busy off-season with Jacques du Toit, Will Jefferson, Paul Nixon and Nadeem Malik all signing new contracts and Australian international Andrew McDonald confirming his return for a second year as Leicestershire's overseas player.
