This weekend sees the eagerly anticipated first ever meeting of Knowle & Dorridge CC vs Dorridge CC in the Birmingham League Premier Division.

It really is a major achievement to have two sides from the same parish in the Premier League which covers an area that includes Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire, and is a credit to both sides to be playing at this level.

This first meeting will take place at Dorridge CC on Saturday 5th July with a 12.00 start.  K&D currently sit in fourth place in the Premier League while Dorridge have found the first season at this level a little tougher and currently sit in 10th place just above the relegation zone.

Both sides will be looking forward to the fixture and will be hoping to be a full strength with Jon Webb of Dorridge and Paul Best of K&D CC hoping that Warwickshire CC will allow them to take their places in their sides.

K&D will also include Richard Johnson (ex-Derbyshire) and Michael Hill (Melbourne Renegades) while Dorridge have their own international with Jamie Atkinson (Hong Kong).

Admission is free for what is likely to be a well contested contest for local bragging rights, so everyone is welcome to pop down on Saturday afternoon to show their respective allegience.

As it turns out, the two teams meet again on Wednesday night again at Dorridge CC (6.30 start) in the quarter-final of the Birmingham League T20 competition, thus giving Saturday's losing side the chance for immediate revenge.
