London Sixes Cricket Competition 2011

We are delighted to invite your club to the Inaugural London Sixes Cricket Competition 2011. This event is organised by Capital Kids Cricket and London Tigers and will take place on Monday 18th & Tuesday 19th July 2011 at Trailfinders Sports Club, Vallis Way, Ealing, London W13 0DD. The event will be held 3 days before Test match between England v India at Lord’s.

This is the only International 6 a-side cricket event, giving cricketers from community level to play against international standard players. Min Patel formally of England and Kent CCC will lead a star studded side and you are invited to take part in the challenge as ‘The Battle is about to Begin’.

The aim of the event is to raise funds for Capital Kids Cricket & London Tigers, both of whom are registered charities. Any money raised with be invested to support the development of cricket in deprived areas in Tower Hamlets and Southall where many children cannot play cricket at a higher standard due to the lack of financial support.

The event is endorsed by the Middlesex Cricket Board and supported by the ECB. The event will be managed by Sports Source Direct and MACOMM, Bangladesh are the marketing partners.

The entry fee is £1000 for all teams with a special package for overseas team including 3* accommodation for 3 nights, airport transfers, match day transfers etc for an additional £500. This is based on a squad of 10 people including the coach / captain. There will be a prize fund of £6000 with losing semi finalist winning a guaranteed £1000. Winners, runners up and player of the tournament will be awarded prize money, trophies and the converted title of the INAUGURAL LONDON 6’s CHAMPIONS 2011. Alongside the ‘Main Cup’ the four lowest placed teams will participate in a ‘Plate Competition’ with great trophies and prizes up for grabs.

If your club is interested in part in the London Sixes, please complete the application form and send it with your payment by Friday 27th May 2011. For overseas teams who require accommodation the deadline is Monday 16th May 2011, as we have to make arrangements and require more time. Only 12 clubs will take part this year. Please find attached with this letter the team registration form, group fixtures plus knockout format and playing conditions.
