Luke Wright Into Overall Sixes Lead

Sussex's Luke Wright has moved into the lead of the Sky Sports Sixes League.

Wright’s four sixes against Gloucestershire on Monday night saw him replace Worcestershire’s Graeme Hick at the top of the table, by virtue of facing less balls. Both players are tied on 23 maximums, one six ahead of Nottinghamshire’s David Hussey.

The Sky Sports Sixes League, sponsored by the Daily Express, ranks the top ten batsmen that have hit the most sixes in Friends Provident, Twenty20 Cup and NatWest Pro40 matches.

It provides batsmen with another incentive for big-hitting with £2,000 and the sixes trophy for the winner, plus awards for each month’s big hitter. This summer’s monthly winners are David Hussey (May), Graeme Hick (June) and Luke Wright (July).

The league has become a hugely popular element of Sky’s cricket coverage, with league table is featured on Sky’s domestic cricket coverage, Cricket AM and on skysports.com/sixes. It is also published each Wednesday in Daily Express.
