Australia have named their provisional squads for both the men’s and women’s World Twenty20 tournament in Sri Lanka. A surprising omission from the men’s squad is off-spinner Nathan Lyon, who has apparently been overlooked in favour of all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. Another man who will be disappointed to be left out is fast-bowler James Pattinson, with Ben Laughlin and Dirk Nannes included at his expense.
National Selector John Inverarity said of the squad: "The squad announced today is full of talent, enterprise and all-round strength. Within the 30 players named is depth and cover for all departments within the team."
