Auckland Aces' Pakistani all-rounder Azhar Mahmood completed a bittersweet day as his side qualified for the group stages of the Champions League T20 when he was fined for a code of conduct breach.
Mahmood took five wickets and hit a half-century in a thumping win over Hampshire but was fined $1000 for gesturing to Liam Dawson after his dismissal.
He pleaded guilty to breaching Level 1.6 of the CLT20 Code of Behaviour which relates to "pointing or gesturing towards the pavilion in an aggressive manner by a bowler or other member of the fielding side upon the dismissal of a batsman."
Match referee David Boon imposed a reprimand and the fine.
Auckland will continue their campaign when they play Kolkata Knight Riders on 15th October.
