In the week that the historic stadium hosts the third Ashes Test Match, Lancashire County Cricket Club (LCCC) has chosen Manchester based innovation studio Skylab as its digital partner to help mark the rebranding of the Emirates Old Trafford.
With the action now underway in Lancashire, the eyes of the sporting world are focused on the newly named Emirates Old Trafford.
Following a competitive pitch, Skylab will initially focus on creating a new website for the venue side of the business, to help celebrate the historic naming rights deal.
When completed the new website will showcase the venue’s ability to generate revenue from non-matchday sales and deliver world class events for conferences, dinners, exhibitions, weddings, Christmas parties, private parties, meetings & training.
The complete website will be launched later this year. In the meantime, a holding page is already live at http://www.emiratesoldtrafford.co.uk/ to support lead generation during this high profile event.
Daniel Gidney, Chief Executive of Lancashire County Cricket Club, said: “Skylab’s passion, level of detail and enthusiasm in creating our new digital platform clearly shone through what was a competitive tendering process.
“We are delighted with their appointment and look forward to a close and productive working relationship during what is a crucial and exciting time at Emirates Old Trafford.”
Nigel Collier, Managing Director, Skylab said: “It’s a privilege to be working with such a historic club. Skylab was selected due to our strong blend of innovation, creative and technical skills, married with our unashamedly commercial approach to helping clients generate new revenue online.
“The partnership with LCCC further underpins Skylab’s natural sector strength in digital strategy and sports marketing.”
As a result of this and other recent wins, Skylab is looking for developers to grow their technical team.
