Marcus North Bowled Over By Thule POM Award

Thule, the world’s largest manufacturer of car roof rack systems, roof boxes and accessories has presented Gloucestershire County Cricket Club squad member, Marcus North, with the Thule Player of the Month (POTM) Award for April 2008.

North, in his second season at Gloucestershire, started the season well with both bat and ball, providing a very useful slow bowling option for his team. His 87 in the LV County Championship game against old team mates Derbyshire played Gloucestershire into a commanding position. The Australian followed up with a good performance with the ball in the second innings, taking 3 wickets for 57 runs from 27 overs.

In the Friends Provident Trophy match against Glamorgan Marcus took 3 for 32 from his 10 overs and helped put Gloucestershire in a winning position before the weather intervened.

Thule, whose UK offices are in Clevedon, North Somerset, sponsor the Gloucestershire Player of the Month Award. Thule’s UK General Manager Peter Barker presented Marcus North with his award at the county ground in Bristol. Peter Barker commented: “Marcus has been a consistently high performer at Gloucestershire and Thule are proud to award him April’s Player of the Month. Marcus recently proved a fierce opponent to Kevin Pietersen’s Hampshire side last weekend and looks to remain on fighting form as the season progresses. We wish him the best of luck!”
