Marcus North Earns Thule Player Of The Month Award

Thule, the world’s largest manufacturer of car roof racks, boxes and accessories has presented Gloucestershire County Cricket Club squad member, Marcus North, with Thule’s Player of the Month (POTM) Award for the second time this season.

North, in his second season at Gloucestershire, received June’s award for his notable efforts during what has proved to be a testing month for Gloucestershire County Cricket Club.

Statistics for the Twenty20 Cup showed North finishing with an average of 38.8 from 7 innings, whilst Hamish Marshall was next with 29 from 7 innings. The LVCC game against Northamptonshire saw Marcus North score 96 and Jon Lewis take 4 for 65.

Despite the difficulties in Gloucestershire’s game in June, prominent performances also included Steve Adshead's 71 in the FPT quarter final and good bowling performances from Mark Hardinges (2 for 36 from 10 overs) and Jon Lewis (2 for 21 from 10 overs). During the Twenty20 Cup Hamish Marshall scored 46 against the Warwickshire Bears and 59 against the Northamptonshire Steelbacks.

Thule, whose UK offices are based in Clevedon, North Somerset, sponsor the Gloucestershire Player of the Month Award. Thule’s UK General Manager Peter Barker presented Marcus North with his award at the county ground in Bristol. Peter Barker commented: "Marcus is continuing his high performance at Gloucestershire and Thule are proud to award him June’s Player of the Month. Marcus has kept up the pace, providing great team spirit and morale which I’m sure will spur on Gloucestershire in next month efforts."
