Mark Ramprakash To Serve Two-Match Ban In 2009
Mark Ramprakash will miss the first two matches of the 2009 LV County Championship after the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) as punishment for using crude language during Surrey's match against Sussex in August.
He will also be fined £1500 and ordered to pay £1000 costs after he pleaded guilty to the charge.
Ramprakash repeatedly swore at an umpire during the match and the punishment handed down by the ECB took into account that Ramprakash was Captain at the time of the incident, his previous good character, and the facts that he was contrite, had unreservedly apologised to the Umpires and had already been fined £1000 by Surrey County Cricket Club.
