Marston’s Signs Deal For Pouring Rights At Durham

Marston’s has today signed a deal with Durham County Cricket Club to become the Official Beer of the Club.

The long-term agreement means cricket lovers in the North East will be able to enjoy great British beers like Marston’s Pedigree and Marston’s Smooth while they sit back and watch some world class cricket.

Peter Jackson, Marketing Director of Marston’s Beer Company said: “This new deal with Durham adds to our uncompromising commitment to English cricket on a local and national level. Durham County Cricket Club and the Riverside Stadium will become the focus of increased marketing activity for Marston’s in the North East. We are looking forward to working with such a progressive looking county in Durham.”

The ground, which is expecting to attract record crowds when it is to host England’s five-day test against the West Indies in June, adds to Marston’s already-impressive list of areements to supply beer at test match grounds across the breadth of the country.

“We are delighted to be in partnership with the makers of the official beer of English cricket. We think Marston’s outstanding beers will have a massive appeal to the people of the North East, “said Durham CCC Commercial Manager Gordon Hollins.

“It is clear Marston’s is totally committed to English cricket. We are really excited about the deal.”

Durham has a number of players in the England squad at the moment, including all-rounder Paul Collingwood and fast bowlers Steve Harmison and Liam Plunkett. In addition to the West Indies Test Match, The Riverside Stadium will play host to some exciting cricket in the County Championship, One Day Tournaments and the fast paced Twenty 20 Cup.
