New Zealand XI 384 (McCullum 206) v
Pakistanis 234-8 (Misbah-ul-Haq 99no)
Tour game, Whangerai, day two

Chris Martin and Daniel Vettori took three wickets apiece as the touring Pakistanis closed day two of their tour game against a New Zealand XI on 234 for eight in reply for 384.

However, there was a highlight for Pakistan in that captain Misbah-ul-Haq was unbeaten at stumps on 99, the only batsman to hold firm as New Zealand put the tourists under severe pressure.

Quick bowler Martin dismissed Mohammad Hafeez (4), Taufeeq Umar (1) and Younus Khan (7) as the Pakistanis slumped to 22 for three and when Azhar Ali was trapped in front by Trent Boult, they were 39 for four.

Misbah and Asad Shafiq (19) launched a partial recovery before Vettori dismissed Shafiq, Abdur Rehman (20) and Umar Gul (24) to ensure it was New Zealand's day.

Wicket-keeper Adnan Akmal also gave Misbah solid support with 35 and the captain faced 197 balls, hitting ten fours and three sixes.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan dismissed the home side with left-arm fast bowler Sohail Tanvir taking four for 63 and pacer Gul three for 61.

Tim Southee's 21 not out was the top score on day two for New Zealand - on day one, Brendon McCullum stroked 206 and Tim McIntosh 51 to put them in a strong position.

The first Test between the two sides gets underway on 7th January in Hamilton.

Pakistan In New Zealand 2010-11
Jesse Ryder blazed his way to 107 in 93 balls to set up a consolation victory for New Zealand over Pakistan in the sixth and final One-Day International in Auckland. New Zealand claimed a 57-run victory after scoring 311 for seven and then dismissing Pakistan, who claimed the series 3-2, for 254.
Ahmed Shehzad scored his maiden One-Day International century to set up a series-clinching 41-run win for Pakistan over New Zealand in the fifth match in Hamilton. Shehzad made 115 in 109 balls as New Zealand posted 268 for nine and they then dismissed New Zealand for 227 inside 47 overs to move into an unassailable 3-1 lead in the six-game series.
New Zealand have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during the fourth One-Day International against Pakistan in Napier. They went on to lose the match by two wickets, and bowling their overs too slowly meant they ended one over short of their target.
Misbah-ul-Haq's calm and collected unbeaten 93 guided Pakistan to a two-wicket victory over New Zealand in the fourth One-Day International in Napier. Pakistan overhauled New Zealand's score of 262 for seven with an over to spare with Misbah holding the innings together as wickets tumbled at the other end.
Mohammad Hafeez hit 115 as Pakistan hit back to level their six-match One-Day International series against New Zealand with a 43-run win in the third match in Christchurch. Hafeez's innings helped Pakistan post 293 for seven and New Zealand then closed on 250 for nine and the series remains locked at 1-1 with three games remaining.
The second One-Day International between New Zealand and Pakistan in Queenstown was abandoned due to rain after just 4.2 overs of play were possible. Pakistan had raced to 31 without loss, with openers Mohammad Hafeez and Ahmed Shehzad on four and 25 respectively, before heavy rain descended.
