Warwickshire off-spinner Maurice Holmes has been suspended from bowling by the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
He was reported for bowling with a suspected illegal action following a Second XI Trophy match against Nottinghamshire on 13th June 2011.
As no previous evidence was available, he was required to have his bowling independently analysed which took place on 24th June.
The report of the analysis was received by the ECB on 6th July and the ECB revealed the following:
"The report identified that the bowling action of Holmes during the independent analysis was materially different to his action during the match in which he was reported on 1 May 2011 and that the deliveries bowled during the independent analysis were not at a suitable pace.
"Consequently and in accordance with the regulations, Holmes is suspended from bowling for England and in Competitive County Cricket until such time as he has submitted to a fresh Independent Analysis in which it is concluded that he has remedied his action. The suspension is with immediate effect."
