Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has announced that it has shortlisted five development companies in its search for a partner to deliver a new premium residential development and ancillary works at Lord’s Cricket Ground in St John’s Wood, London NW8. The development, along the eastern side of the ground on Wellington Road, is expected to substantially fund the first phase of MCC’s multi million pound 'Vision for Lord’s'. The shortlisted companies are:

  • ALMACANTAR
  • CAPITAL & COUNTIES
  • GROSVENOR
  • LONDON NEWCASTLE
  • NATIVE LAND

MCC was seeking interest from development companies with expertise in prime residential development, comparable experience of partnerships or working closely with organisations similar to MCC, and a demonstrable track record in securing planning consents.

Keith Bradshaw, MCC’s Secretary & Chief Executive, said: “Our decision to seek a development partner is driven by the Club’s fundamental objective of maintaining and enhancing the reputation of Lord’s as the pre-eminent cricket ground in the world and the global home of cricket.

“We had a first class international response from development companies and we now look to move to the next stage of delivering the Vision for Lord’s”.

In arriving at the shortlist, MCC has been advised by Cushman & Wakefield.

No timetable has been set for the project. This is one step in a long process. The Club will be making no further statements on the project at this time.
