MCC World Committee To Meet In New Zealand

Auckland, venue for the final ODI between England and New Zealand, will also host the MCC World Cricket Committee later this month

The MCC World Cricket Committee will break new ground when it meets in New Zealand for the first time later this month in Auckland.

The two-day meeting will be held on 25th and 26th February and chaired by former England captain Mike Brearley, will be the first at which former West Indian captain Jimmy Adams will be in attendance.

Chief Executive of New Zealand Cricket, David White, will also attend.

They will hear presentations from Ian Taylor, the creator of Virtual Eye and Warren Brennan, the inventor of Hot Spot as they discuss the Decision Review System.

Also on their agenda is corruption in cricket, the context for international cricket, the laws of cricket and women's cricket.

The MCC World Cricket Committee is an independent voice in world cricket that meets twice yearly and comprises players, officials, administrators and journalists.

Former Glamorgan and Worcestershire batsman Stephen Henderson will manage an experienced MCC touring party during a ten-day visit to the Cayman Islands. The fifteen-man squad, which also includes ex-England and Scotland international Gavin Hamilton, veteran Surrey left-arm spinner Keith Medlycott, and young Leicestershire all-rounder Will Jones, departed from Lord’s yesterday evening (15th April).

MCC Names 2013 Women's Young Cricketers Squad

The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have named a squad of 12 MCC Women's Young Cricketers for the 2013 season. The squad includes England-capped players Tamsin Beaumont, Amy Jones, Sarah Taylor and Danielle Wyatt and eight players from the England Academy.

The MCC World Cricket Committee has concluded its two-day meeting in Auckland - its first in New Zealand - at which a number of topical issues were discussed. Following the meeting, the committee issued statements on the subjects that were raised, chief among them was corruption in cricket.
