South African batsman Neil McKenzie has extended his contract at Hampshire and is now set to play in all forms of the game in the 2011 season.
His registration as a Kolpak players allows the club maximum flexibility when recruiting overseas players and the contract extension comes after a successful first season at The Rose Bowl.
“Neil has been an outstanding player for the club this season, putting in countless match-winning performances including, most notably, his Man of the Match display in the Royals’ Friends Provident t20 final victory," head coach Giles White said.
“He brings so much to the team both on the pitch and in the dressing room so we are very pleased that he will be joining us once again next year.”
Having helped Hampshire win the Friends Provident t20 competition, he has since departed to play for the Highveld Lions in the Champions League in South Africa.
