Middlesex Award Andrew Strauss 2009 Benefit

Middlesex have awarded opening batsman and former England captain Andrew Strauss a benefit year in 2009. Strauss first played for Middlesex in 1997, making his first-class debut in 1998 and was capped by the club in 2001 before going on to make his England debut in 2003. The left-hander, who has scored 10,863 first-class runs, has also signed an extension to his current contract which will see him remain at Middlesex until the end of the 2010 season. © Cricket World 2008
