South Africa Women 241-3 (du Preez 90no) beat
India Women 240 (Sharma 79) by seven wickets
Third One-Day International in Potchefstroom
Mignon du Preez scored an unbeaten 90 as South Africa Women chased down 241 runs in the final over with seven wickets in hand in the third and final One-Day International against India in Potchefstroom.
India entered the game having already won the series with wins in the first two games but South Africa did manage to earn points in the ICC Women's Championship with a win in the final game.
India won the toss and decided to bat first. Smriti Mandhana (0) and Mithali Raj (4) had rare failures with Shabnim Ismail (4-30) and Ayabonga Khaka (1-47) removing them.
Deepti Sharma (79), Harmanpreet Kaur (25) and Veda Krishnamurthy (56) consolidated the innings but regular fall of wickets meant India were kept in check. Ismail troubled the lower order with three quick wickets before Shikha Pandey (31 not out) with her 16-ball cameo lifted the score to 240 before they were bowled out.
Pandey (1-43) carry forwarded her momentum into the second innings when she removed Lizelle Lee (10) early but Laura Wolvaardt (59), Andrie Steyn (30), du Preez (90 not out) and skipper Dane van Niekerk (41 not out) ensured the Proteas reached the target in 49.2 overs with seven wickets in hand.
