Pakistan 177-7 (Misbah-ul-Haq 62no) beat
West Indies 171 (Simmons 51) by three wickets
Third One-Day International, Barbados
Misbah-ul-Haq stroked a crucial unbeaten 62 to guide Pakistan to a three-wicket win over the West Indies in Barbados which put them in an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match One-Day International series.
Chasing 172 to win, Misbah's innings helped the tourists take the win the 41st over although they were pushed hard by the hosts, for whom Ravi Rampaul took four wickets and Devendra Bishoo three.
Rampaul, playing his first game of the series, added much-needed firepower to the West Indies attack and he dismissed Mohammad Hafeez (5), Ahmed Shehzad (0) and Asad Shafiq (0) and Umar Akmal (30) but Misbah, in combination with Hammad Azam (36) rebuild the innings.
Despite Bishoo's late haul of three for 42, Pakistan held their nerve to take the victory.
Earlier, Lendl Simmons had top scored with 51 and Darren Bravo made 47 before the West Indies were bowled out for 171.
Left-arm quick bowler Wahab Riaz and off-spinner Saeed Ajmal both took three wickets.
