Cricket Australia (CA) have confirmed that all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been sent home from the Centre of Excellence as a disciplinary measure.

They have taken the action after Marsh was 'unfit to train after a night out'.

A statement from CA added: "While the incident in itself was not serious, he was already on a final warning.

"As such, it was decided he should be sent home to Perth."

Marsh, the younger brother of Shaun and son of former international player and coach Geoff, has played a single One-Day International and three Twenty20 Internationals between October 2011 and February 2012.

However, the 20-year-old has endured a difficult past few months as a stress injury to his back in February during the Big Bash League meant that he had to miss the rest of the Australian 2011-12 domestic season.
