Furness further extended their lead at the top of the John Smith's North Lancashire and Cumbria League Premier Division before losing in the final of the Higson Cup to closest challengers Workington.
By taking a winning draw against Penrith, they gained 16 points to the 12 gained by Workington in their rain-affected draw against Haverigg, taking them to 245 points with Workington on 212.
However, Workington put in a strong performance one day later, scoring 236 for three before bowling Furness out for 215 to claim a 21-run win.
Callum Moffat (108) became the first man to score a century in a Higson Cup final and his innings went a long way towards setting up his side's win.
He enjoyed a good weekend having scored 109 in the drawn league game.
