Murali Kartik Replaces Ramesh Powar In India Squad

Murali Kartik has been drafted in to the Indian one-day squad for the remainder of the one-day series against Australia with Ramesh Powar being axed.

Powar played a key role in India's narrow 4-3 series victory against England in England, but has not been able to impress against the world champions, so the call for Murali Kartik, who enjoyed a fine season playing for Middlesex, was made.

The 31-year-old Kartik last played international cricket in February 2006.

Meanwhile, the squad for the Twenty20 match against Australia in Mumbai on October 20th will be the same as the victorious Twenty20 World Cup squad.
