Brian Vitori and Richard Muzhange are the only uncapped players in Zimbabwe’s 15-man squad for September’s World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka.
Muzhange did, however, play during the unofficial Twenty20 Internationals against Bangladesh and South Africa in June, while Vitori has already represented his country in both Test matches and One-Day Internationals and impressed during an ‘A’ team tri-series in Harare last month.
Ray Price is the other notable inclusion after being out of action for a while because of injury.
Bowling coach Heath Streak said, "This is one of the hardest squads we've had to pick for a while because we had quite a few players competing for places. Most of these guys are the ones that played against South Africa and Bangladesh in the tri-series. They did well there and we hope they will do well at the World Twenty20. We are in camp now and we will be playing some warm up matches there."
Zimbabwe have also named five non-travelling reserve players. They are wicket-keepers Richmond Mutumbami and Regis Chakabva, all-rounder Shingirai Masakadza, and pace-bowlers Tino Mutombodzi and Tendai Chatara.
Zimbabwe’s first match in the tournament is against hosts Sri Lanka on 18th September in Hambantota.
Zimbabwe squad: Brendan Taylor (captain), Elton Chigumbura, Graham Cremer, Craig Ervine, Kyle Jarvis, Hamilton Masakadza, Stuart Matsikenyeri, Chris Mpofu, Forster Mutizwa, Richard Muzhange, Ray Price, Vusi Sibanda, Prosper Utseya, Brian Vitori, Malcolm Waller.
