Uncapped Naeem Islam and Mahbubul Alam join the recalled Rajin Saleh in Bangladesh's 13-man squad to take on New Zealand in the first of two Tests beginning in Chittagong on Friday (October 17th).

Batsman Naeem played in all three One Day Internationals as Bangladesh let a 1-0 lead slip, top scoring in the final match with an unbeaten 46 while bowler Mahbubul was also in the squad.

Rajin Saleh has not played for his country since 2007 and his recall comes after Bangladesh lost 14 players to the Indian Cricket League, where the Dhaka Warriors, the team formed by the Bangladesh players, lost their opening match to the Chennai Superstars.

Left-arm fast bowler Syed Rasel returns to the Test squad after an arm injury ruled him out of two Test matches in New Zealand last winter.

The second match takes place in Mirpur from October 25th-29th.

Bangladesh: Mohammad Ashraful (captain), Mashrafe Mortaza, Shakib Al Hasan, Zunaid Siddique, Rajin Saleh, Mehrab Hossain junior, Naeem Islam, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahbubul Alam, Abdur Razzak, Syed Rasel, Shahadat Hossain.
