Essex's Graham Napier joined the Royal British Legion this week in Chelmsford High Street where he collected money for the 2012 Poppy Appeal.

The 2012 season has marked Graham's Benefit Year at Essex County Cricket Club, which has given him the opportunity to work closely with the Royal British Legion during the year as one of his main supported charities.

Graham spent the day on Thursday 1 November in Chelmsford City Centre selling poppies ahead of Remembrance Day and expressed his desire to be involved with the charity.

Graham Napier said,"It was a real privilege to be part of the 2012 Poppy Appeal in Chelmsford City Centre. The Royal British Legion is a charity that I have supported for many years and my benefit year in 2012 has allowed me to work closely with them at my events and throughout the year.

"During this year's Twenty20 campaign they came down and collected money on the gates before the match and it was great to help out myself selling the poppies, pin badges and wristbands ahead of Remembrance Day."

Thank you for all the support during the event and Graham raised £202 for the Poppy Appeal.
