Witham CC have been chosen by ECB and NatWest as one of only 3 national showcase clubs for NatWest CricketForce (NWCF) 2011 on Friday 8th April.

NWCF attracted 1642 clubs in 2010 with 85,000 volunteers and the programme is on course to increase these numbers for 2011.

Witham CC are seeeking support from the community to improve the facilities and increase the number of volunteers within the cricket club. A presentation seminar is scheduled for the 12th October, commencing at 7.00pm at Witham Football Club.

Previous showcase clubs have attracted between 200 and 400 people on the day/weekend and a number of businesses. This has led to many facility improvements, examples can be found on www.ecb.co.uk/natwestcricketforce.

Witham CC are seeking to improve in a Groundforce meets Changing rooms ‘style’ event; where we complete tasks with the help of volunteers and local tradesmen who give up their time to support this worthy cause.
It is likely that male and female England cricketers will attend to support us along with Essex CCC players. ECB, Essex CB and NatWest will also be providing staff.

All help is welcome and if you wish to volunteer your time/skills we will put you into a team on Friday 8th April 2011.

The official launch evening is Tuesday 12th October at 7.30 pm at Witham Football Club, in Spa Rd.
