Nazimuddin Replaces Shahriar Nafees For Australia Tour

Nazimuddin will replace Shahriar Nafees in Australia.

Bangladesh opening batsman Shahriar Nafees will play no part in the upcoming One Day International tour of Australia after having asked to withdraw to sit exams.

"Nafees made a request to us to withdraw his name from the squad and it was accepted," a spokesman for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said.

Nazimuddin, who opened the innings for Bangladesh during the Asia Cup, has been named as his replacement.

Bangladesh play three One Day Internationals, the first of which is on August 30th.

Former Bangladesh cricketer Shariful Haque has been banned by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for an indefinite period after allegations made about him by current Bangladesh fast-bowler Mashrafe Mortaza relating to spot-fixing were substantiated. Mortaza made the allegations against him prior to the start of the Bangladesh Premier League, claiming that he had been approached by the 36 year-old with a spot-fixing offer.

Bangladesh bounced back from their mauling at the hands of Richie Berrington yesterday to record a comfortable victory over the Netherlands in Voorburg as their tour of northern Europe continued. Tamim Iqbal ended unbeaten on 69 as they chased down the home side's total of 144 for seven with two overs to spare.

Bangladesh MPs Beat British MPs At The Oval

A team of Bangladesh Members of the Parliament headed by Nazmul Hassan MP visited London to play a friendly cricket match with British Members of the Parliament, winning their one-day game by 47 runs. Invited by former Prime Minister Sir John Major and Conservative MPs, the delegation exchanged views with the All Party Parliamentary committee and also Conservative Party MPs in the House of Commons.
