Nepal beat the United States of America to clinch victory in the ICC World Cricket League Division Five final while there were wins on the final day for Bahrain and Jersey.
The USA made a good start batting against the hosts Nepal, but despite 55 from Steve Massiah they were bowled out for 172. In reply, Nepal reached 175 for five in 46.5 overs, bouncing back after slipping to 140 for five, Gyanendra Malla scoring an unbeaten 28.
Bahrain beat Singapore by three wickets in the third/fourth place play-off, Tahir Dar excelling again as he took four for 29 to help Bahrain bowl Singapore out for 127. He was then unbeaten on 13 when the winning runs were scored, Imran Sajjad having earlier made 34.
Jersey inflicted a sixth defeat out of six on Fiji in a high-scoring match. Josefa Rika (75) and Iniasi Cakacaka (78) steered Fiji to a score of 258 for seven despite Ryan Driver taking four for 58. Driver then made 78 in 104 balls and Peter Gough an unbeaten 58 in 57 balls to guide Jersey home with five balls to spare.
