On September 1st the eccentric semi-geriatric gentlemen of the Fellowship of Fairly Odd Places CC (ffop.cc@live.nl) finally did beat a national side, only after having been previously be beaten by both the Vatican XI and Iceland XI.

This time the newly mustered Andorra XI team were all out for 104 with FFOP C.C. accumulating 187 in a 30-over match. One Dutch player (Huib van Walsem) scored a whopping 110 not out.

This first match in the history of the Principality of Andorra was played on what was the highest impromptu cricket pitch in Europe - an altitude of 1,300 metres.

FFOP CC has not only reached the TV Andorra sports journal, but also made front page news in the national newspaper The Diairi d' Andorra.

A year of detailed planning was needed to organise this unique event. All Andorrese press and quite a lot of spectators witnessed this first cricket match in the principality.

The Dutch gentlemen's primary purpose was to introduce cricket as a sport to stay in Andorra - something they succeeded in doing in the Vatican as a consequence of the 2008 match.
