New Balance have signed England captain Charlotte Edwards to their growing team of elite athletes, where she joins players including Jonathan Trott and Gary Ballance.
Edwards recently scored her ninth One-Day International century to stand alone on the list of century-makers in Women's ODI cricket and led England to the ICC Women's World Cup and ICC Women's World Twenty20 titles in 2009.
"We are delighted to have signed Charlotte Edwards, one of the world’s most distinguished women cricketers," said Darren Tucker, New Balance’s Vice President for Asia-Pacific.
"This will enable the brand to continue developing its global reputation for high performance athletic products with the New Balance range building a strong reputation in cricket footwear and cricket equipment."
Edwards, who made her international debut in 1995 and took over the England captaincy in 2006, added: "I am delighted to join New Balance’s team of athletes and I am looking forward to being able to support the brand’s global cricketing ambitions.
"New Balance provides the highest quality cricket kit and performance footwear.
"I am certainly looking forward to using them in matches and in training and also helping with the future development of the New Balance range at the highest levels of the game."
