Nottinghamshire seamer Mark Footitt has been awarded a new contract for the 2009 season at Trent Bridge.
Footitt made his debut for Nottinghamshire in 2005 but has struggled with injury and played no part in the 2008 season.
“We feel that Mark is a talent worth persisting with because he is potentially the quickest bowler that we’ve got and having a left-arm variation will be a valuable asset,” Notts Director of Cricket Mick Newell said.
“Last season was ruined for him because of a run of injuries but he’ll be working very hard to get fit through the winter and it’s up to him to push for a place in the early stages of next season.”
