New Contracts For Middlesex Players Kartik And Malan

Middlesex have announced that Indian spinner Murali Kartik and all-rounder Dawid Malan have signed new contracts with the club.

Kartik will spend his third season as an overseas player in 2009 while Malan has signed a long-term contract after starring in the 2008 Twenty20 Cup win.

Kartik said, "I am delighted and honoured to be back at Middlesex for the third year in a row. I'm looking forward to the Stanford Super series and the Champions League and helping to bring more success next year. With the potential and young talent at the Club we can look forward to exciting times and I am very much looking forward to it."

Middlesex Chief Executive Vinny Codrington commented: "We are delighted that Kartik and Dawid have re-signed for Middlesex. Dawid is a real star of the future and one to watch, and Kartik has been a great overseas signing for us and I'm sure will continue to bring experience, intelligence and motivation to our predominantly young squad."
