Lancashire County Cricket Club (LCCC) is delighted to announce that Daniels Thwaites Brewery have signed a new three-year deal which will see them continue as the club’s Official Sponsor until the end of 2012.

The Blackburn based brewer’s “Wainwright” brand will replace their “Lancaster Bomber” brand on the front and back of all Lancashire playing shirts and will also appear on training strips.

Thwaites have supported the club since the mid-1990s, providing beers, taking out stand sponsorship and organising an annual testimonial dinner - which to date has supported fourteen beneficiaries.  This new deal will see Daniel Thwaites continue their exclusive pouring rights agreement with LCCC, providing all beers for the club’s Old Trafford headquarters.

In 2007, Daniel Thwaites were joint sponsors before signing an exclusive two-year sponsorship agreement.  This new deal will see Thwaites continue as club sponsor for six consecutive seasons – loyalty on this scale is rare in sport, particularly during these tough financial climes.

Warren Hegg, LCCC Business Development Manager said; “It is fantastic news that Daniel Thwaites have continued their sponsorship of the club for a further three years.  Not only are they a great company to be associated with, but their roots are here in Lancashire, they employ local people and are great supporters of grassroots sport throughout the North West – particularly cricket.”

Geoff Durbin LCCC Commercial Director said; “Our commercial relationship with Daniel Thwaites is one of the strongest in North West sport, which is evident by this new three-year agreement.  The exclusive beer pouring rights will run concurrently with the club sponsorship, so our many customers can continue to enjoy Wainwright and all of Thwaites’ other popular brands until the end of 2012.”

Sue Allen, Commercial Director at Daniel Thwaites said: “They say cricket is all about partnerships, and we are delighted to be renewing our sponsorship and continuing our support of the county team, which now stretches back to 1995. What makes it more special is we’re able to announce Wainwright as Lancashire’s latest signing. It’s our flagship beer, has a great all round taste and we hope it will help the team “walk” the title next season!”
