New South Wales have named their 15-man squad to compete in the Champions League Twenty20 in India in October.

The Speedblitz Blues will take on English champions Sussex and South African runners-up the Gestetner Diamond Eagles and they will be led by Simon Katich.

Brad Haddin has been ruled out after fracturing a finger during the Ashes tour but the New South Wales squad is full of players with international experience as Katich is joined by Doug Bollinger, Nathan Bracken, Stuart Clark, Nathan Hauritz, Moises Henriques, Phillip Hughes, Brett Lee and David Warner.

Australian vice-captain Michael Clarke, however, is absent, as he takes a break ahead of a gruelling schedule of international cricket.

The New South Wales team qualified for the tournament after beating Victoria in the 2008/9 KFC Big Bash Twenty20 final.

New South Wales: Simon Katich (captain), Aaron Bird, Doug Bollinger, Nathan Bracken, Stuart Clark, Nathan Hauritz, Moises Henriques, Phillip Hughes, Brett Lee, Stephen O'Keefe, Ben Rohrer, Daniel Smith, Steven Smith, Dominic Thornely, David Warner
