New Sussex Contracts For Ben Brown And Tom Smith

Sussex youngsters Ben Brown, 19, and Tom Smith, 21, have signed new two-year deals at the club.

Wicket-keeper Brown played for Sussex during the NatWest Pro40 campaign while also representing England Under-19s during the World Cup in Malaysia and against New Zealand this summer.

Left-arm spinner Smith has been with Sussex for two years and enjoyed a successful season with the second XI in 2008 while also playing some One Day and Twenty20 cricket for the first team.

Professional Cricket Manager Mark Robinson commented, "I am delighted to have such highly promising youngsters on board in Ben and Tom. Both players have received a lot of interest from other counties, which isn’t surprising to me. I am glad that they both see Sussex as their home and are looking to push hard over the next couple of years for a regular first team spot."
