Derek Jeter is the Captain of the New York Yankees, has won five World Series Championships, is one of the greatest baseball players of all time and a future Hall of Famer.

Recently American College Cricket President Lloyd Jodah had the pleasure of meeting Jeter - the result is these remarkable photos of Derek Jeter handling a cricket bat, ball and helmets - as he said, "This is the first time ever I’ve signed a cricket ball..."

Lloyd described the moment:

"When I handed Derek (he introduces himself as Derek) the cricket bat he naturally gripped it the correct way but nevertheless asked 'How do you hold it?'

"I was happy to tell him that he was gripping it the right way, then showed him to lean over the bat, with it touching the ground.

"It was great to connect a baseball icon with America’s original game - cricket."

In 2011 American College Cricket participated in the opening of the National Baseball Hall of Fame Exhibition, "Swinging Away - How Cricket & Baseball Connect" (an exhibition done in conjunction with the MCC Museum and the CC Morris Library & Museum) and later in the Hall’s Cricket Weekend.
