Injury-struck New Zealand have added left-arm quick bowler Trent Boult to their One-Day International squad ahead of the West Indies series.
Ross Taylor, Jacob Oram and Ronnie Hira all suffered injuries during the 2-0 Twenty20 International series defeat and Boult was originally on standby for the five-match ODI series.
"The current squad already has sufficient batting resources and we felt that bolstering the bowling stocks was the right option," New Zealand Cricket (NZC) National Selection Manager Kim Littlejohn said.
"Trent was always part of the Test squad and has been on stand-by for the ODI series. Having him join the team early will also benefit his preparation for the Test matches."
The first game in the five-match series is in Jamaica on Thursday 5th July.
New Zealand ODI squad: Ross Taylor (captain), Martin Guptill, Trent Boult, Doug Bracewell, Dean Brownlie, Andrew Ellis, Daniel Flynn, Tom Latham, Nathan McCullum, Kyle Mills, Tarun Nethula, Rob Nicol, Jacob Oram, Tim Southee, BJ Watling, Kane Williamson
