New Zealand 311-6 (Guptill 130) beat
Ireland 279 (Porterfield 72) by 32 runs
2011 ICC Cricket World Cup warm-up, Nagpur
Martin Guptill hit 130 before New Zealand held off hard-charging Ireland to claim a 32-run win in a 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup warm-up game in Nagpur.
Guptill faced 134 balls and hit 12 fours and three sixes to set up New Zealand's score of 311 for six with James Franklin hitting 49 and Brendon McCullum 48.
Chasing 312 to win, Ireland's chances were kept alive by captain William Porterfield's 72 at the top of the order, Ed Joyce's 41 and 39 from Paul Stirling.
However, their task proved to be beyond them and four wickets for left-arm spinner and captain Daniel Vettori enabled New Zealand to close out victory.
Quick bowlers Kyle Mills (3-52) and Hamish Bennett (2-61) shared five wickets for New Zealand.
