New Zealand Name Squad For West Indies Tour

New Zealand Name Squad For West Indies Tour

New Zealand have named a 14-member squad for their women's tour of the West Indies in October.

They will play three One-Day Internationals in Jamaica before playing a Twenty20 International tri-series with England and the West Indies.

They will arrive in the Caribbean on 1st October, play a warm-up game on 4th October and their first ODI is on 6th October.

The tri-series commences on 14th October when the White Ferns take on the West Indies.

All-rounder Kate Broadmore is unavailable for the tour due to university commitments and the experienced squad will be led Suzie Bates.

"An extensive off-season programme has the team well prepared for the upcoming summer. Pre-tour camps in Maroochydore and Tauranga are also part of the build-up," coach Katrina Keenan said.

"The Caribbean tour is a great opportunity for us in both formats and we’re confident we can be successful in both. “I’m very confident in the players we’ve picked and believe that there is a good balance of skills, youth and experience.

"With the domestic season scheduled later in the year, those players who missed out will have every opportunity to push their case for future selection and we’ll be watching their progress closely."

New Zealand Women squad: Suzie Bates (captain), Erin Bermingham, Nicola Browne, Rachel Candy, Sophie Devine, Natalie Dodd, Maddy Green, Frances Mackay, Morna Nielsen, Katie Perkins, Rachel Priest, Sian Ruck, Amy Satterthwaite, Lea Tahuhu
