Twenty20 International, Hamilton

Brendon McCullum blasted an unbeaten 56 in 27 balls as New Zealand demolished Bangladesh to win their one-off Twenty20 International by ten wickets in Hamilton.

Batting first, Bangladesh were bowled out for just 78 and New Zealand needed just 8.2 overs to reach their target.

Aftab Ahmed made his return to international cricket but he was one of only five players to reach double figures as Bangladesh's batting crumbled, Raqibul Hasan top scoring with 18 in 13 balls and Tamim Iqbal making 14 from nine at the top of the order.

Man of the match Daniel Vettori took three for six, dismissing Mohammad Ashraful (11) and Mushfiqur Rahim in consecutive deliveries before having Shahadat Hossain stumped for one.

Daryl Tuffey, Nathan McCullum and Jacob Oram grabbed a pair of wickets and James Franklin took one.

McCullum then smashed seven fours and two sixes to hurry New Zealand to victory alongside debutant Peter Ingram, who was unbeaten on 20 in 23 balls.

The two sides now move on to Napier, where the first of three One-Day Internationals is on Friday (5th February).
