The three-day tour game between the Bangladesh Cricket Board XI and the touring New Zealanders has been abandoned due to persistent rain in Chittagong.
The match was due to be the tourists' only preparation ahead of the opening Test, which is scheduled to begin on 9th October at the same venue.
No play was possible on the opening day due to a waterlogged outfield and with conditions unlikely to improve, an early decision was taken to call off the rest of the match.
"The match referee consulted the grounds staff and fellow match officials and explained the situation to management of both teams," tour management committee chairman Gazi Ashraf Hossain said.
"The teams have understood that the prospects of having any play in this game appear remote and hence the decision to abandon the match.
"We feel sorry for the fans and cricket organisers in Chittagong but weather factors are beyond our control."
